Argent Architecture + Design was approached to design a custom residence for a family seeking a modern, energy efficient home

The result is a three storey, steel framed modern structure. The first floor houses all of the common spaces including a soaring two storey great room. The second floor contains the sleeping areas and the third floor houses a luxurious master suite, a private balcony and common roof terrace.
The modern look was achieved with a flat roof and a material palette of a fiber cement panel rainscreen system, longwood siding and expansive glazing. Energy efficiency was paramount in the design and the house was designed to passivhaus standards. Energy efficient details include roof mounted photovoltaics, passive heating via large south facing glazing and insulation which exceeds code standards.
